Profile of Students’ Mathematical Understanding through Diagnostic Tests Viewed from Multiple Intelligences

Mathematic has characteristics of abstract objects, so mathematical understanding is needed in studying mathematics. Until now, no research examined students’ viewed from multiple intelligences. This study aims to determine the profile through diagnostic tests reviewed was a quantitative approach with population all students one junior high schools Banda Aceh, Indonesia, and sample 44 selected by purposive sampling. Data collection carried using intelligence questionnaire test. analyzed descriptive statistics. The results showed that logic able define concepts verbally, interpret, identify, distinguish concepts; linguistic, naturalistic, existential musical kinesthetic verbally interpret spatial interpersonal concepts. implication this teachers need understand realize students' intelligences are an important aspect needs be considered delivering class material improve understanding.
